If after hours claims assistance is required please follow the instructions given on the phone line when you call our number.

Below is a link to an automobile claim form that you can keep in your car to know the information that you will need to gather in the event of an automobile insurance claim. The following is information to help you know what you need to do in the event of an automobile claim:

  1. Take care of anyone who is injured.
    1. Call 911 for an ambulance.
    2. Do not move anyone with injuries unless it is necessary to get them away from fire or passing traffic.
    3. Do not move your vehicle if there are injuries, fatalities, extensive damage or any fuel leaks. Turn off the engine and do not smoke or place flares near the car.
  2. Report the accident to the police.
    1. Call 911 and wait for police to arrive.
    2. Police may ask you to drive or tow your vehicle to a police Collision Reporting Centre.
  3. Record information.
    1. Gather information of everyone involved in the accident; other drivers, passengers, witnesses, pedestrians, cyclists and anyone with injuries.
  4. If your car is not drivable, call a tow truck.
    1. We recommend that you call Canadian Roadside and Recovery Inc. at 1-877-686-7777 (24 hours a day)
    2. Remember to remove all valuables from your vehicle.
  5. Getting Home.
    1. Take your vehicle home with you if it is safe to drive.
    2. If your vehicle must be towed and you have coverage for “Transportaion Replacement”, you may rent a vehicle or take a taxi home (keep receipts). Check your policy or speak with your broker to confirm your coverage.
